Last week, Talking Rain welcomed some future flavor scientists into the Flavor Lab for a visit!
Our Research & Development team hosted three participants from Girls on the Run Puget Sound, a local council of our national nonprofit partner, Girls on the Run International. We spent the afternoon taking a behind-the-scenes look at beverage creation, exploring sensory activities, and learning how the components of each flavor help find the “just right” taste for a beverage. And then they put their knowledge to work
– each girl got to create their very own flavor of Sparkling Ice!
Girls on the Run International, an afterschool program for third- through eighth-grade girls, focuses on building confidence, increasing physical activity and teaching girls to embrace their limitless potential. Our afternoon in the Flavor Lab together did the same thing, giving the girls a chance to explore flavor science, a key part of the food and beverage industry. Rain Makers are passionate about giving young people the chance to experience our world, and Talking Rain is excited to help empower the next generation of scientists and culinologists. Talking Rain believes in living life in full flavor, and Girls on the Run’s mission helps young girls do just that.
The Flavor Lab experience with Girls on the Run was a hands-on learning opportunity where the girls connected directly with the team behind the bold flavors in their favorite Talking Rain products, like Sparkling Ice and Popwell.
KING 5’s Evening Magazine joined us in the lab to capture the fun to share with the whole community. Check out the segment to learn more about the Flavor Lab, Talking Rain’s partnership with Girls on the Run and find out what flavors each participant came up with.
