Veterans, we salute you! This Veteran’s Day, we’re giving a sparkling salute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Talking Rain is proud to partner with the Honor Flight Network in their mission of transporting America’s veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifice.
Thanks to our incredible partners, retail customers, and Sparkling Ice shoppers, we’re thrilled to share that we have raised a total of $255,000 for Honor Flight in our fifth consecutive year of partnering with the organization. In addition to this donation, we now have the opportunity to offer a virtual experience to Honor Flight’s community of veterans.
The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit committed to showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve. The organization provides veterans with a once in a lifetime trip to Washington D.C. to tour their respective memorials at no cost to the veteran. For many, the trip offers an opportunity to look back, reflect, and pay homage to their fellow service members.
Due to current travel limitations presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Honor Flight has postponed all scheduled flights in 2020. Despite this, we remain committed to helping heroes take flight. We’re testing out a new way to bring our veteran community to D.C by offering a virtual experience using VR technology. The Oculus Go headset allows each veteran to get a glimpse of D.C from the comfort of their own home.
