May is Military Appreciation Month, and we’re taking this opportunity to say “cheers” to the military community! To all Veterans and active-duty members, thank you for your service and sacrifice. This Memorial Day, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our valued non-profit partners, the Honor Flight Network.
The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit dedicated to providing veterans with a VIP trip to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor. While flights are currently postponed, our team remains committed to doing our part to support the veteran community, especially during this challenging time. This is our sixth year partnering with the organization.
Thanks to the generous support from our partners, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $200,000 with a total donation of over $255,000. These funds were used to support the Puget Sound and West Florida Honor Flight chapters and two of Honor Flight’s national programs, including Lone Eagle, which helps veterans who live far from an existing hub, and TLC, which caters to veterans living with a terminal illness. As an added bonus, we provided Honor Flight with three special headsets allowing veterans to see the memorials using special VR technology until flights resume.
This year, Talking Rain has set a new goal of raising $275,000 for Honor Flight. In addition to our fundraising efforts, we’re bringing awareness to the non-profit’s mission through the Sparkling Ice Cheers to Heroes campaign. Throughout the campaign, the Honor Flight logo is being featured on select Sparkling Ice packaging and incorporated into retail displays across the country.
